Editorial Standards & The BigGyaan Pledge
How we approach science, AI, and technology: empirical rigor, zero marketing hype, and accessible explanations for all of India.
Why Editorial Standards Matter
In an era saturated with sponsored tech influencers, apocalyptic headlines, and corporate press releases masquerading as journalism, science communication is broken.
Artificial Intelligence is routinely presented either as an unstoppable super-intelligence that will replace humanity tomorrow, or as a magical tool without cost or flaw. Neither claim is true.
BigGyaan adheres to five unwavering editorial standards to ensure every article you read is trustworthy, grounded, and dignified.
The Five BigGyaan Principles
1. The Physical Bottleneck Rule
Every software abstraction rests on physical hardware. We do not discuss “the cloud” without explaining the massive data centers, cooling water, and electrical grid powering it. We do not discuss AI models without explaining the memory bandwidth, silicon wafers, and matrix multiplications taking place inside processors. Starting with physical reality grounds the discussion in truth.
2. The Anti-Hype Pledge
- We never publish clickbait headlines (“This AI will destroy your job by next month!”).
- We distinguish between observed empirical facts and unverified corporate claims.
- When an AI tool makes errors, exhibits hallucinations, or consumes enormous amounts of power, we highlight these constraints prominently.
- We do not accept sponsored product placements or corporate PR copy.
3. High Intellectual Respect for the Reader
Accessible writing is not “dumbing down.” We assume our readers — whether they are 14-year-old school students in Sambalpur, college professors in Pune, or farmers in Haryana — are intelligent, curious, and capable of understanding complex principles when explained with patience and relatable physical analogies.
4. Multilingual Dignity & Natural Voice
- Science belongs in Indian languages. We write with natural conversational cadence, avoiding both impenetrable Sanskritised pedantry and lazy transliteration.
- We use widely understood loanwords (like mobile, battery, network, algorithm, chip) when they make communication smoother, and rich native words when they evoke intuitive meaning.
- All Hindi and Odia text adheres to our typographical house style, including non-breaking space before the danda (
।).
5. Clear Source Accountability & Correction Policy
Every claim is backed by peer-reviewed literature, open-source technical specifications, or official government/scientific agency reports (such as ISRO, DRDO, or MeitY). If we get a detail wrong, we correct it openly and transparently with a dated correction note.
Educational Project, Not Financial or Legal Advice
BigGyaan is strictly an educational initiative. Discussions of digital public infrastructure, AI tools, or tech regulations are intended for civic literacy and personal learning, not commercial investment or legal counsel.
